Florence Cossidente Brancato, 87, of Heritage Woods, Wallingford, formerly of Frost Drive, North Haven, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2011 at the CT Hospice, Branford. Wife of the late Randolph Brancato. Born in New Haven on October 20, 1924; daughter of the late Giovanni and Anna DeStefano Cossidente. Florence was a 1941 Honor Diploma graduate of the New Haven Commercial High School where she was the class Salutatorian; was a bookkeeper for 16 years at North Haven Plumbing and Heating which at the time was owned and operated by her late husband; was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. Mother of Lawrence F. (Rosemary) Brancato of Wallingford, Susan Jackson of Torrington, Gale A. (Thomas Newman) Brancato of Hebron, David J. (Ann) Brancato of Manchester and Robert E. Brancato of Wallingford. Sister of Loretta Colvano of North Haven and the late George Cossidente. Sister-in-law of Carrie Cossidente of North Haven, Dorothy Brancato of WA, Alfred (Carol) Brancato of Stratford and Carmen (Louis) Chagnon of Bridgeport. Also survived by ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Thursday afternoon at 1:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours.
