Louis Petrucci, beloved husband of Loretta (Colatosti) for 68 years, passed away on September 26 at his home. He was born in New Haven on August 24, 1923. Always a worker, Lou had many jobs as a young man including shining shoes, pin boy in a bowling alley, bakery apprentice, ride attendant at Savin Rock and Western Union delivery person.  Lou attended Boardman Trade School where he learned his trade as a toolmaker.  He proudly served in the US Army from 1943 to 1946 in the anti-aircraft division responsible for identifying and disabling enemy aircrafts. Once out of the service, Lou worked as a toolmaker in several local companies before he started his career in 1951 with the US Government, Department of Defense, as a Quality Assurance Representative. He retired in 1990 after 39 years. He survived by his wife, his sister, Lena DelCorte and 3 daughters, Joanne (Don) Rundstrom, Susan Petrucci (Paul Prusinski) and Loretta (Fred) Schuler.  He had 7 grandchildren (Jason, Chris, Cara, Kim, Jess, Michael and Rachel) and 11 great grandchildren.

Private funeral services have been entrusted to the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
