Annette V. Sarno, 75, of Branford, formerly of Manomet Avenue, North Haven, passed away Friday, November 18, 2011 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Born in New Haven on October 22, 1936; daughter of the late Ralph and Angelina D’Urso Sarno. Annette had worked for Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield for 39 years until her retirement. Sister of Joseph (Maureen) Sarno of Hamden, John Sarno of Branford, Barbara Sarno and Ann Armas both of North Haven and the late Marie DeCusati. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who she loved very dearly.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Tuesday morning at 9:30. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Monday from 5 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

I used to work with Nettie back at Blue Cross when we were on Whitney Avenue in New Haven. She was a really nice person. Even after she left Blue Cross we kept in touch over the years mostly by phone. I just wanted to the family I am very sorry for your loss.
