Raymond Joseph Behrend, 83, of Wallingford, passed away Monday, November 28, 2011 at Hartford Hospital. Husband of 61 years to Florence Redenti Behrend. Born in New Haven on March 23, 1928; son of the late Louis & Ann Rich Behrend. Raymond had worked as an expeditor for CT Container. He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Navy. Father of Marc L. Behrend of Wallingford. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Predeceased by his 4 brothers & 2 sisters.
His Funeral Procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., Thursday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Therese Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call Thursday morning at the funeral home from 8:30 to 9:30.
I called him “Daddy” and he always called me sweetheart. I will miss him very much. Marc is my best friend and brother, and my deepest sympathy and empathy go out to him and his Mom with all my heart. You guys are my family and we will always be there for you whatever the need. Be comforted in knowing he’s resting peacefully now, smiling and holding a royal flush!
