Vincenza DeMeo DiNello, 97, of 600 Washington Avenue, North Haven, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the Whitney Manor, Hamden. She was the wife of the late Anthony P. DiNello. Born in New Haven on February 7, 1914; a daughter of the late Pasquale and Marguerite Meneo DeMeo. Vincenza had worked as a Machine Operator for the former Mite Corporation until her retirement and was a parishioner of St. Anthony’s Church. Mother of Theresa M. DiNello of North Haven. Aunt of Mary (Russ) Powers of Northford. Great-aunt of Albert Powers of Nashville, TN, Megan (Antonio) Scotto of Wallingford and Briana Powers of Northford. Also survived by several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Predeceased by a sister Josephine Maturo.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue,Wednesday morning at 10:00. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Anthony Church at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. I didn’t know your Mom that well, but I still smile when I think of her asking me if I wanted a cup of coffee or a sandwich while I was cleaning. She was awfully cute!! I am sorry for you and your family. May she rest in peace, God bless her.
