Mary Kathleen Mockalis Vercellone, 73, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Masonicare Health Center, Wallingford with her family by her side.  She was the beloved wife of the late Peter T. Vercellone.  Mary was born in Bridgeport on December 20, 1942; daughter of the late Peter and Mary Zalesky Mockalis; she received her Bachelor and Master degrees from Southern CT State University; had worked as a school teacher at Jane Ryan Elementary School, Trumbull and later in the Fire Science Department at the University of New Haven.  Mary was a collector of dolls, enjoyed shopping and had a love for animals frequenting the Animal Haven in North Haven to bring food.  Loving mother of Amanda E. Vercellone and Michael P. Vercellone.  Beloved sister of William E. (Barbra) Mockalis, Nance E. Donato, Deborah L. (Donald) Mallette and the late Eugene Mockalis.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Wednesday morning at 11:30.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Frances Cabrini Church at 12 Noon.  Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
