Philip “Mike” Chialastri, 85, of Jensen Beach, FL formerly of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at his home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of sixty-five years to Angelina Massaro Chialastri. Mike was born in Hoboken, New Jersey on July 22, 1929; son of the late Antonio and Teresa Siano Chialastri; served his country faithfully in the US Navy; had worked for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for eighteen years and later was a teacher at Pinellas Vocational Tech, FL. Mike was a member of the American Legion, the Son’s & Daughter’s of Italy, enjoyed sports having played basketball in his earlier years and was a NY Yankees fan. Father of Anthony (Rose) Chialastri and the late Teresa Hughes. Grandfather of Jodi Kolb, Joel (Mandy) Chialastri, Michael (Nicole) Chialastri, Frank and David Chialastri, and the late Anthony Chialastri. Great grandfather of Ian Hammons, Anthony II, Carissa, Evan, Tanner, Darla and Gemma Chialastri. Ret-great grandfather of Anessa, Jaedon and Noah Hammons. Brother of Anna Lato and the late Augustine, Joseph and Ralph Chialastri. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Saturday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Frances Cabrini Church at 10:00. Interment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 pm.
