Trofimena DeRosa Giaquinto, 87, of 165 Clintonville Road, North Haven, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at the Whitney Manor, Hamden. Born in New Haven on July 14, 1924; daughter of the late Nicholas and Antoinette Mauro DeRosa. Mrs. Giaquinto was a hairdresser for the former Frank Cavaliere Beauty Salon and later was an office worker for the former New Haven Savings Bank. Mother of Joseph “Jake” DePalma of Southbury and Michele (Mark) Rowland of Northford. Grandmother of MaryBeth and Michael Rowland, Jennifer, Jessica and Joseph DePalma, Jr. Sister of Louise Airone of Hamden, Domenic (Carole) DeRosa of East Haven, Nicholas (Eileen) DeRosa of Northford, Carmela Donlan of North Haven and the late Vincent, Alfred and Aurelio DeRosa. Also survived by two great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue on Saturday morning at 10:00 to attend a mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal services immediately following in All Saints Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN 38105. The North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue has been entrusted with her arrangements.
