Lucy DeCaprio Puglia, 86, of Durham, CT, formerly of North Branford, passed away peacefully at her home with her daughters by her side on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. She was the wife of the late Salvatore Puglia. Lucy was born in New Haven on August 18, 1929; daughter of the late Modestino and Rose Cinotti DeCaprio; attended Saint Raphael’s School of Nursing and attended law classes at several schools. She worked for the New Haven Probate Court for several years and later for the North Haven Probate Court until her retirement at age 80. Lucy enjoyed traveling, reading, cooking and baking. Mother of Maria Laudano, JoAnne (Jeffrey) Heintz and Lisa Puglia. Nonnie of Jason (Tanya) Laudano, Anthony Laudano and Jeffrey Heintz. Great Grandmother of Alexa Lucia (“my baby”) Laudano. Sister of Martha Amatruda and the late Laura Fasulo, Mary DeCaprio, Phyllis Pugliese, Connie Butler, Philip, Fred, Nicholas and Anthony DeCaprio. Sister-in-law of Pasquale (Rae) Puglia. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. We would like to give special thanks to the staff of VNA Community HealthCare especially Mary, Joe, Tracy and Francine. We also give a special thanks to The Connecticut Hospice especially Jonathan for his kind and compassionate care given to our mom. We would also like to extend our gratitude to Diana and Lisa.

Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Augustine Church, 30 Caputo Road, North Branford on Monday morning at 11:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Sunday from 3 to 7 PM at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue.
