Pasquale Greco, 93, of New Haven passed away Saturday, December 24, 2011 at the Apple Rehab/Laurelwoods, East Haven. He was the beloved husband of Rose “Dolly” Mastrio Greco. Born in New Haven on May 19, 1918; a son of the late Frank and Mary Grace Migliacci Greco. Mr. Greco served his country faithfully as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army during WW II and had received the European African Middle Eastern and American Theater Campaign Ribbons; he later worked for C. Cowles & Co. for many years retiring as a Quality Control Inspector. Mr. Greco was very active with the Knights of Columbus having been a 3rd degree member of the Father McGivney Council #10705; an Honor Guard and was Knight of the year for that council in 99/00. He was also a 4th degree member of the John Barry Assembly #97 which later became the Hon. Patrick Domlin Council #2459. Mr. Greco was a Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan; enjoyed his flower garden and was a devoted parishioner of St. Mary’s Church, New Haven. Father of Mary Grace (David) Caplan of Guilford and Patricia (Steven) Breda of Winthrop, Maine. Grandfather of Marissa (Gregory) Gledhill of Northford, Jamie (Josh) Woodard of Rhode Island, Justine (Christopher) Kennan of Southbury, Angela (Jon) Mason and Andrew (Natasha) Breda all of Maine. Great grandfather of Michaela Rose and Eliana Grace Gledhill. Brother of Frank (Jennie) Greco of North Haven, Sylvester “Bill”(Marilyn) Greco of Stratford, Ann (Vincent) DeFilippo of Shelton, Marie Katsimperes of AZ and the late Florence Forte, John, Edward, Anthony and George Greco. Brother-in-law of Josephine (Michael) Rispoli of New Haven. Also survived by his best friend Albert Acabbo of Madison; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Paquale’s family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to all the PA’s, RN’s, LPN’s, Therapists, Social Workers and Aides at Apple Rehab/Laurelwoods for the excellent comfort and care given throughout his stay.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Thursday morning at a time to be announced tomorrow. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church, Hillhouse Ave., New Haven. Interment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm. Should friends desire memorial contributions may be made to the Father Michael J.
