Betty C. Alexander Richardson, 69, of North Haven passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Friday, July 17, 2015 at the St. Raphael campus/Yale-New Hospital with her beloved husband of 49 years William J. Richardson, Jr. by her side. Betty was born in New Haven on July 7, 1946; daughter of the late Everett and Marie Pilletere Alexander, Sr. She was an avid reader always gathering with her many friends as she frequented Barnes & Noble; enjoyed doing puzzles and spending many hours on her computer. Mother of William (Georgette) Richardson III, Shiela (Mark) VanDeusen, Jeffrey Richardson and Todd (Ria) Richardson. Grandmother of Carly and Peyton VanDeusen, Tanner, Paige and Caelan Richardson. Sister of Robert, Paul and Everett Alexander, Jr., Linda Nuzzo and the late Marion Alexander and Bernadette Philips. Sister-in-law of Sharon (Michael) Celotto. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Wednesday morning, July 22nd at 9:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Therese Church at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Tuesday, July 21st from 4 to 8 pm.
