Margaret P. LaPorta Centone, 91, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford. She was the wife of the late Alfred A. Centone. Margaret was born in New Haven on January 16, 1925; daughter of the late Nicola and Maria Rubano LaPorta. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her family unconditionally. Mother of Margaret Linda Macosky (Paul) and Alfred A. Centone (Valerie). Grandmother of Jeanine Baldwin (Matthew), Denise Studley (John), Paula Callahan (Dave), Nicholas Centone (Marissa), Kimberly O’Loughlin (Andrew), Gabrielle and Megan Benedetto. Also survived by ten great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Predeceased by her brothers John and James LaPorta and a sister Edith D’Addio
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Saturday morning at 10:30. Family and friends may call from 9:00 to 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian burial will follow in St. Barnabas Church at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice, Inc., 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.

I am so sorry to hear about your Mom/Grandma. She was one special lady who had a good life and loved her family very much. I remember years ago she would call me for recipes. She loved to cook and bake. May she rest in peace. ????????????

I had so much fun with "Peggy" growing up. Our cousin Virginia and I spent the night with her and laughed all night. She was such a wonderful hard working lady. I know she will be missed by her family.Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
