Edward F. Aiello, 72, of Northford, passed away Monday, January 16th at the CT Hospice, Branford. He was the husband of Geraldine Gallant (Fogarty) Aiello. Born in New Haven on October 18, 1939; son of the late Edward and Theresa Perrotti Aiello. Edward had worked as a self-employed route driver and later was a Press Operator for the New Haven Register for many years until his retirement. He had served in the National Guard; was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus-Council #6801 of Northford and a member of the Northford Volunteer Fire Department Company #2. Father of Mark (Joyce) Aiello and Gregory S. Aiello all of Hamden. Step-father of John (Dona) Fogarty of Woolwich Twp, N.J., Theresa “Terri†(Michael) Fumiatti of Durham and Susan (Eric) Whiteman of Virginia Beach, VA. Grandfather of Julia Faith Moore-Aiello, Gianna Louise Fiorillo-Aiello, Stacey Ann & Steven Michael Fumiatti, Camille Amanda, Collin Edward and Cassie Lee Aiello, Scot Edward, Jeffrey Ellis, John Eugene & Sean Eric Whiteman, Thomas Patrick, Colleen Dolores, Mary Kathryn and Michelle Ann Fogarty. Predeceased by a brother Joseph Aiello.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue on Saturday morning at 10:30. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Frances Cabrini Church at 11:00. Interment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Saturday from 8:30 to 10:30 am. Should friends desire memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2080 Silas Deane Hwy, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
