Marcel R. Ouellette, Sr., 66, of New Haven, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford with his family by his side. He was the husband of eleven years to Midge Pacifico (Barone) Ouellette. Marcel was born in Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada on January 31, 1949; son of the late Adelard and Jeanne Pelletier Ouellette; served his country faithfully in the US Army during the Vietnam era and had worked as a carpenter for C.J. Fucci Construction for many years. A hardworker since age 14 until last week, he was a member of the Laborers Union Local #455; enjoyed golfing; was a NY Yankees, Montreal Canadians, Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR fan. Father of Marcel R. (Amy) Ouellette, Jr. Step-father of Diana Martini and Paul Barone. Grandfather of Taylor and Olivia Ouellette, Brieana and Edward Martini, Jr. Brother of Louise LaFerriere, Micheline Lawyea, Mona Landry, Suzanne Albert, Andre and Philip Ouellette and the late Guy Ouellette. Brother-in-law of Larry LaFerriere, Clayton Lawyea, Rene Landry, Joyce and Karen Ouellette.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Monday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Therese Church, North Haven at 10:00. Interment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Sunday from 3 to 7 pm. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the CT Hospice, Inc., 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
