Dorothy Pierpont Fortier, 75, formerly of Spring Road, North Haven, passed away Friday, January 27, 2012 at the MidState Medical Center, Meriden. She was born in New Haven on February 27, 1936; daughter of the late Shepard and Anna Gottstein Pierpont. Dorothy had worked for the former H.B. Ives and later in the Tax Office at the North Haven Town Hall. Mother of Kenneth Fortier and his wife Valerie of Orange, and the late Patrick J. “Turtle†Fortier, Jr. Grandmother of Krystal and Kenneth Fortier, Jr., and Michael Falcone. Sister of Richard (MaryLou) Pierpont of North Haven, Robert (Greta) Pierpont of FL and Betty Ritter of WY. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her former husband Patrick J. Fortier, Sr.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Tuesday morning at 10:30. A funeral service will be conducted in St. John’s Episcopal Church, North Haven at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Monday from 5 to 8 pm.
