Robert Dorio, 50, of North Haven, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the CT Hospice, Branford. He was the husband of Stephanie Sawyer Dorio. Robert was born in New Haven on July 4, 1961; son of Florence Carlson Dorio of Port Charlotte, FL, formerly of West Haven, CT and the late Anthony Dorio. Rob was most happiest and at peace during his cross country trips. He was an avid sports enthusiast and was and avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. Father of two beautiful girls Sophia and Julia Dorio. Brother of Michael (Carol) Dorio of New Haven and Amy Dorio of West Haven. On behalf of Rob and his family, they would like to extend as special “Thank You†to the nurses and staff of the CT Hospice, Branford.
Family and friends may call at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue on Friday evening from 5 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may made to the Dorio Childrens Fund c/o First Niagara Bank, 20 Ocean Ave., West Haven, CT 06516. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in All Saints Cemetery.
I’m sorry for your loss my condolences to robs children and family. I have worked with rob for the past yr at Quinnipiac and can.truly say he loved his 2 beautiful daughters more then anything.
My deepest condolences to the entire Dorio family during this sad time. Many of us became friends in the late 80s and Rob was always able to make you smile. He was just such a great guy and will be sadly missed by all whose lives he touched.

It was a pleasure knowing Anthony for the time we shared on York Hill. Our prayers go out to him and his family. He will be missed by us all.
