Frank Anthony Rawden, age 97, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2012, at The Oaks Retirement Community. Frank was a longtime resident of Sackett Point Road in North Haven, Connecticut, before moving to Birmingham, Alabama. Frank was born in New Haven, Connecticut on March 4, 1914. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Helen Ulatowski Rawden; parents, Ludwig and Anna Rawdanowicz; three brothers, Walter, Paul and Alex; and a sister, Constance. Frank graduated Boardman Trade School as an electrician and was a member of the I.B.E.W. Local 90. During WWII, he worked at the Groton Sub Base building submarines. Frank was also a member of the Eagles Social Club of New Haven, CT. Frank is survived by his son, Francis (Frank) Rawden; three grandsons, Eric, Craig and Cole; and eight great-grandchildren, all of Alabama.
Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Friday morning at 11:00. Relatives and friends may call one hour prior to time of service. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
