Mary Barnowski, 87, of Pool Road North Haven, passed away Monday, February 27, 2012 at Whitney Manor, Hamden. Wife of the late Joseph Barnowski. Born in Ansonia on May 4, 1924; daughter of the late William and Mary Collins Dillon. Mother of David Barnowski (Angela) of Vermont. Sister of Margaret (Peggy) Eckart of New York. Predeceased by brothers William Joseph, Jr. and Michael (Sonny) Dillon. Sister-in-law of Peggy Dillon. Aunt of William (Linda) Dillon, MaryEllen (John) Sands, Fran Signore and Patti (Marty) Carlo and nieces and nephews on the Harry Barnowski, Jr. side. Great aunt of Steven, Mark, Joseph, Elisa, Dana, Jason, Michael, Shannon, Shelby, Colby and Salvatore. Special friend of Carolyn Wright and Dolores Marelli. Mary most recently worked as a demonstrator in the food industry and had earlier worked for M & B Manufacturing and Second National Bank. She was a member and past president of the PRCU, a dedicated member of the North Haven Republican Town Committee for over 30 years and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post # 88. She will be fondly remembered as the sample lady for her years as a product demonstrator at several local stores and for proudly and lovingly providing the special Easter Kielbasa for brother Sonny’s family.
Her Funeral Procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue on Thursday morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Frances Cabrini Church at 11:00. Internment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
