Ruth Anton Parrett, 83, of Naples FL, previously of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the Vitas Hospice in Naples, FL. She was the beloved wife of Attorney Richard J. Parrett. She was born on August 15th, 1932, in New Haven, the daughter of the late Paul and Celia (Gudaitis) Anton. She was predeceased by her brothers, Dr. Michael Anton of Stratford, Paul Anton of North Haven and Anthony Anton of Hamden. In addition to her husband of 60 years, Mrs. Parrett is survived by her children, Richard J. Parrett, Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Guilford, Linda Parrett Langan and her husband James of North Haven and Catherine Parrett of Naples, FL. Her grandchildren Jennifer Langan and Stephanie Langan of North Haven and Danielle Paradis of Marston Mills, MA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ruth graduated from Hillhouse High School in 1950 and from the former New Haven State Teachers College in 1954 and received her Master’s degree in Education from the University of Connecticut in 1958. She was a retired North Haven school teacher who taught 3rd grade for many years at the Temple Street and Green Acres Elementary Schools and she always enjoyed spending summer vacations with her family and friends at her beach house on Cape Cod. Upon retiring, she devoted many years to participating in local prayer groups and was a great inspiration to her many friends. She was deeply loved by her family from which she will be greatly missed.
Family and friends are invited to meet directly at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 2819 Whitney Avenue, Hamden on Saturday, April 23 at 10:00 am to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal services immediately following at All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Animal Haven, Inc. 89 Mill Rd., North Haven, CT 06473. The North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue has been entrusted with the arrangements.

It has been some time since our last match at NHCC. My thoughts are with you and family with the passing of Ruth. If you are going to be in the area for a while, staying with your son in Guilford, I would love to recount stories of the dancing feet as Bill Nims always addressed them.
