Paul R. Clarke, 91, of North Haven, passed away Friday, March 23, 2012 at the Hospital of St. Raphael. He was the husband of 62 years to Marie Louise Fischer Clarke. Born in New Haven on February 10, 1921; son of the late Paul L. and May Beckwith Clarke. Paul served his country faithfully as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during WW II throughout central Europe and southern France, having received the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon with a Bronze Star. Paul had worked as an Electrician Specialist for the United Illuminating Company for 38 years until his retirement;was a member of the Branford Trolley Museum and enjoyed repairing and tinkering with electric motors and steam engines. Father of Paul L. Clarke and Bruce F. Clarke both of North Haven. Predeceased by his sisters, Jean Dietrich, Ruth Spencer, Lois DeAngelo and June Flynn
Funeral services will be conducted in the Trinity Church on the Green, Temple Street, New Haven on Friday morning at 11:00. Interment with full military honors will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park. The visiting hours will be Thursday from 6 to 8 pm at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue.
