John M.”Jack” Brandt, Jr, 89, of Branford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at the Hearth at Gardenside, Branford. He was the husband of the late Mary English Brandt. John was born in New Haven on January 31, 1927; son of the late John Brandt, Sr. and Beatrice Lafo Brandt; served his country faithfully in the US Navy during WW II; had worked for Metro-North for many years until his retirement; enjoyed collecting model trains and taking frequent trips to the casino. Father of John (Debbie) Brandt III and Francis (Marguerite) Brandt. Brother of Marge Decker and Madelyn Pavia. Also survived by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue on Saturday morning at 10:00 am with the Rev. Timothy Meehan officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 pm.
