Carolyn Ann Romano Palmieri, 73, of Northford, formerly of West Haven, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at the CT Hospice, Branford with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Attilio “T” Palmieri. Carolyn was born in New Haven on November 7, 1939; daughter of the late George Romano, Sr. and Anna DiStasio Romano; was a graduate of St. Vincent Nursing School and had worked as a Registered Nurse for the Orange Health Care Center for over thirty years until her retirement. Mother of Michael (Lisa) Palmieri, Vincent (Margaret) Palmieri and Angela (Marc) Angiollo. Grandmother of Marc Angiollo, Jr., Nicholas Angiollo, Anthony Palmieri, Elisa Palmieri, Kristen (Jason) Noonan, Joseph Maturo III and Matthew Maturo. Sister of George (Rosemary) Romano, Jr. Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and her devoted caregiver Ramona. The family would like to thank the staff at Atria Larson Place, Hamden, who became a part of Carolyn's loving family and to the staff of the CT Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion given to Carolyn.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Saturday morning at 9:30. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Monica Church at 10:00 am. Entombment will be private and at the convenience of the family in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will Friday from 4 to 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CURE PSP (Foundation for PSP/CBD and Related Brain Diseases), 30 E. Padonia Road, Ste. 201, Timonium, MD 21093.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have fond memories of Carol with my mother Lois. She was always there for my family in times of need. Carol was beautiful inside as she was outside. She always made me laugh and smile. Carol was a gift to the nursing profession. May God embrace her and bless her for all her love she had for people and her family.
