Raymond Mirakian, 87, of Northford, formerly of Hamden, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the Whitney Manor, Hamden. He was the husband of the late Phyllis Butler Mirakian. He was also predeceased by his second wife Marilyn Kelly Mirakian. Born in Worcester, MA on November 1, 1924; son of the late Peter and Theresa Whitworth Mirakian. Raymond was the owner of the former Cottage Restaurant of Guilford; enjoyed golf and his drives to Worcester. Father of Margaret Grava of Hamden, Teresa (Robert) Flint of Northford, Diane (Pat) O’Connor of Guilford, Kathleen Kelly of Clinton, John and James Kelly of Guilford. Grandfather of David & Daniel Kipperman; Christopher, Kimberly, Kathryn and Michael Grava; Colleen Carafeno, Kate Scharf, Tricia DeNeen, Edward Mansfield, Jennifer Conklin; Jamie, Maggie and Kevin Kelly. Brother of Edward Mirakian of Columbia, SC and the late Oscar, George, Leon, Richard, John and Myron Mirakian, Mary Swanberg, Teresa Mirakian and Ruth Sandrow. Also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Thursday morning at 9:15. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm.
