Pasquale “Pat” DeMaio, Sr., 75, of North Haven formerly of Orange passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015 at his home with his beloved wife of 53 years Melinda DelVecchio DeMaio by his side.  Pat was born in New Haven on December 4, 1939; son of the late Saverio DeMaio and Elizabeth Stancarone (DeMaio) Asuntino;he obtained an Associate degree from the former Quinnipiac College; he had a 25 year successful career in sales, first as Vice President of Sales for the Giltex Corporation, then going into business for himself as president of DeMaio Sales.  Staying in the entrepreneurial spirit Pat then became owner and operator of Pat’s Place Restaurant in West Haven from 1984 to 1998 before retiring.  In 1963, Pat signed a baseball contract with the Boston Red Sox Organization and in later years was the first baseball player inducted into the Quinnipiac Sports Hall of Fame.  Pat enjoyed frequent trips to casino.  Father of Pat DeMaio, Jr. (Jerry Caturano), Christopher DeMaio (Kristen), David DeMaio (Pamela) and Paula DeMaio.  Grandfather of Michael, Jillian, Dylan, Carly, Benjamin and Ava DeMaio, Beckett and Cooper DeMaio Stone.  Brother-in-law of Barbara DeRiu (John).  Uncle of Lisa DeRiu and Deigna DeRiu (Michael Crowley).  Predeceased by his step-father Daniel Asuntino and step-mother Sarah DeMaio.

His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Wednesday morning at 9:30.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Frances Cabrini Church at 10:00 am.  Entombment will follow in the St. Lawrence Mausoleum.  The visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm.  Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr., Wallingford, CT  06492 or the American Lung Association, 45 Ash St., East Hartford, CT  06108.
