Clara Mel Cappiello, 82, of Woodbridge passed away peacefully on Friday, May 20, 2016 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank M. Cappiello. Clara was born in New Haven on December 22, 1933; daughter of the late Andrew and Victoria Baron Mel. Mother of Woodbridge Police Chief Frank P. Cappiello (Roseann) and Jacqueline A. Skehan (Chuck Bastan). Grandmother of Anthony Cappiello (Jackie), Katie Heald (Andrew), Stephen Cappiello, Thomas and Ted Skehan. Great-Grandmother of Lia and Joseph Cappiello, Ellie Heald. Sister of Norina Cartoceti and the late Roger Mel.
Honoring Clara's wishes, funeral services will be private. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of their choice.
