Anthony “Barney” Massaro, 85, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late MaryAnn Beck Massaro. Barney was born in New Haven on January 8, 1929; son of the late Pasquale and Antoinette Arcangelo Massaro; obtained his BS degree from the University of Bridgeport and had worked as a Draftsman/Engineer for Pratt & Whitney for over 35 years until his retirement. Barney was a fan of the New York Yankee and UCONN Girls and Boys Basketball Teams. Father of Patricia Massaro, Anthony (Nichole) Massaro and Michael (Laura) Massaro. Grandfather of Robert Marone and Jonathan Knickerbocker. Brother of Angelina (Mike) Chialastri and the late Pasquale Massaro. Brother-in-law of Lorraine Massaro. Also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Monday morning at 10:00 with the Rev. Timothy Meehan officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 pm.
