Anna M. Scharf Delehant, 86, a resident of North Haven for most of her life until moving to Wallingford, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012 at the Meriden Center. She was the wife of the late John J. Delehant, Sr. Born in New Haven on May 24, 1926; daughter of the late George H. and Anna K. Doyle Scharf. Since the beginning of the North Haven Fair, Anna had always been a participant. Mother of Kathleen (Anthony)Tomasso of Boynton Beach, FL, Ellen (Richard) Grabowiecki of Wallingford, Deborah Talmadge of Palm Bay, FL, John J. Delehant, Jr of Northford, George E. (Linda) Delehant of Cocoa, FL and Thomas S. Delehant of North Haven. Sister-in-law of Raymond Delehant of Hamden. Also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Predeceased by a sister Patricia Michel.
Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Thursday morning at 11:30. Entombment will be private and at the convenience of the family. The visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 6 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the North Haven Animal Shelter or the D.A.V.

We are so sorry for the loss of Great Grandma Nancy, Thats how our kids knew her as. She was such a loving woman and we were Blessed to have her in our lives. She never forgot our kids Birthdays and was so thoughtful. She will be truly missed. I am so sorry for the families loss!
