Tony S. Iannotti, 91, passed away at home on Thursday, June 28, 2012. Tony was born in New Haven, Ct. on May 13, 1921, to the late Frank and Assunta (Sbordoni) Iannotti. Tony is survived by his sister, Mary Mariotti of Shelton, Ct. and predeceased by his brother Domenic Iannotti. Tony grew up in Derby, Ct. and courageously served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Tony returned home after the war and in 1948 married the love of his life, Maria Sama Iannotti. The happy couple lived forty five years in Shelton, Ct. until their relocation to North Haven, Ct. in 1993. After the war Tony was employed by Sponge Rubber in Shelton, Ct. and then in 1950 he went to work at Pratt and Whitney in North Haven, Ct. Upon his retirement in 1983 Tony carved out a second career working in the plumbing department at Housatonic Lumber in Derby, Ct. Tony retired for a second time years later to take care of his ailing wife at home. Tony and Maria were married for sixty three years until Maria’s passing last December. Tony leaves behind his beloved only child, the Hon. Frank Iannotti (Hon. Bernadette Conway) and his two cherished grandchildren, Alison and Michael Iannotti.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Tuesday morning at 9:30. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 10:00. Interment with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 pm. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Ct.
