Daniel Paul Fleming, 66, of Harriman, TN, formerly of Pool Road, North Haven, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Erlanger Medical Center, Chattanooga, TN with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Angela Pisacane Fleming. Daniel was born in Hartford on July 22, 1947; son of the late Daniel J. and Alice Cullen Fleming; served his country faithfully in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era; obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Quinnipiac University and had worked as an Environmental Scientist for many years. Daniel was a former North Haven Fire Commissioner, former member of the North Haven Democratic Town Committee, had served on the Inland/Wetland Commission, was a member of the Knights of Columbus/Father Donaher Council of North Haven, member of the American Legion Murray Reynolds Post # 76, North Haven and former parishioner of St. Therese Church. Daniel loved the great outdoors and traveling but most of all enjoyed his family and friends. Loving father of Daniel J. Fleming II and step-father of Jennifer Bibby-Gerth (Jonathan) and Michael John Bibby. Grandfather of Dominic Charles Gerth. Brother of Helen Fleming, Patricia Fryer (Jack), Deidre Fleming, Alicia Fleming Sato (Morihiko) and Christine Lewis (Michael). Also survived by nieces and nephews.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Saturday morning at 10:30. Family and friends may call from 9:00 to 10:30 am. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Therese Church at 11:00. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vantage Group, 605 Washington Avenue, North Haven, CT 06473.
