Frances Ferraro Maiocco, 85, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at her home. She was the beloved wife of 60 years to Vincent J. Maiocco.  Frances was born in Bridgeport on April 5, 1929; daughter of the late Leonard and Anna Fortivo Ferraro; obtained a Bachelor’s degree from the former Connecticut State Teachers College and was a teacher for the Southport Board of Education.  Her family was her everything, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and loved her family unconditionally.  Frances was a member of the Farms Country Club of Wallingford, was an avid golfer and bridge player, loved bird watching, flowers, playing games and going to the casino.  Loving mother of Bunny (Fran) Lynch, Sue (Mike) Zurlis, John (Bev) Maiocco, Rich (Troy) Maiocco, Corky (Bob) Jermine, Patti (Doug) Carman, Chris (Michelle) Maiocco and Janet (Santino) Calabro.  Sister of Mary Ruesch, Antoinette Roman, Phillip (Judy) Ferraro, RoseMarie (Ronald) Wallin and the late Anthony “Amos” Ferraro, and Theresa Martin. Also survived by 21 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Frances will be truly missed.

Family and friends are invited to go directly to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 2819 Whitney Avenue, Hamden on Saturday morning, May 24th at 11:00 to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal services immediately following in the North Haven Center Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours.
