Pamela D. Weiss, 68, of Northford passed away at Yale-New Haven Hospital/St. Raphael campus on Thursday, December 10, with her family by her side. Pamela was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on February 15, 1947, the beloved daughter of the late Alwin and Glenna Fogg. A retired library technician for the North Branford Public School System, Pam was also a former member of the St. Frances Cabrini Women’s Club. An art lover and avid collector, her favorite activities also included cooking, shopping, traveling and visiting casinos. Most of all, Pam was devoted to her family, loved them unconditionally, and cherished her time spent with them—especially her 3 grandchildren. She found great joy in helping kids learn and grow. Warm and caring with a sly sense of humor, she could always be counted on for comfort and support, and often a funny anecdote. Pamela was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 46 years, Richard F. Weiss. She is survived by her son Michael Weiss (Gigi) of Ridgefield and daughter Nicole Lake (Edward) of Berlin, sister Lynn Howard of Poughkeepsie, NY, brother-in-law William Weiss of Cary, NC, and brother-in-law Timothy Weiss of Raleigh, NC, along with three precious grandchildren and several adoring nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, December 18, from 4 pm – 8 pm at North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, North Haven. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, December 19, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 57 Pond Hill Road, North Haven. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd., Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256 (www.woundedwarriorproject.org) or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (www.stjude.org)
Love and Prayers to Nicole, and Michael…your mom was an amazing woman who will be forever missed.
Pam was a remarkable woman. She always thought of others. Back when I broke my foot we came home to a wonderful casserole she had made for us. I thank God that we were able to meet a wonderful and warm hearted person such as Pamela Weiss.
On behalf of the Connecticut Laborers' District Council and as Co-Chair of the Connecticut Laborers' Funds, I would like to extend our sincere condolences to Michael, Nicole and their families. Your mom was a part of our family for many years and was a lovely person. She will be remembered with wonderful memories of our journeys together with your dad. Thinking of you.
