Mary L. Belardino, 90, of Hamden, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the Arden House, Hamden, She was the wife of the late Joseph J. Belardino. Born in New Haven on December 27, 1923; daughter of the late Pasquale and Annuziata Maiorino Marcarelli. Mary adored her family and loved being a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mother of Richard (Joyce) Fazzuoli and Cynthia (Robert) Zacks. Grandmother of Richard (Susan) Fazzuoli, David (Leslie) Fazzuoli, Carla Donahoe, Robert, Joseph and Trevor Zacks. Great-grandmother of Colin Donahoe, Margaret Carpenter and Spartacus Carpenter. Sister of Al Marcarelli and the late Angelo and Edward Marcarelli, Elsie Facin, Antoinette Carboni and Louise Cavallero.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Tuesday morning at 10:30. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 11:00. Interment will follow in Centerville Cemetery, Hamden. The visiting hours will be Monday from 4 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the CT Eye Bank, 100 Grand St, New Britain, CT 06052, or a charity of one’s choice.
