Ida B. Staffa, of Hamden, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012 with her family by her side as she entered into eternal rest. She was born on December 2, 1935, daughter of the late Lucy & Joseph Lacey. She worked for many years as the Secretary at St. Stephen’s School in Hamden. She was the devoted wife of 58 years to Paul F. Staffa. She was the beloved mother of Vivian (Robert) Ferraro of North Haven, Paula (Daniel) Siecienski of Meriden, Catherine Goodman of Wallingford and Mark Staffa of LeClaire, WI. Grandmother of Robert (Alison) Ferraro, Jr. and Lisa Marie Ferraro, all of North Haven who she cherished more than anything. Great grandmother of Tyler Joseph Ferraro, who was a twinkling star in her life. There was nothing more important to her than spending time with her grandchildren. They will forever remember her for her selfless nature and strong will. Monday nights will never be the same without her. She is survived by on loving sister, Corrine Vitolo of Meriden and many nieces and nephews. She will live on in each one of us every day. We will cherish our time together forever.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., Friday morning at 10:30. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church at 11:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Thursday (TODAY) from 5 to 8 pm.
