Lena Landino LaBonia, 90, of 22 Masonic Avenue, Wallingford passed away peacefully Thursday, August 16, 2012 at the Masonicare Health Center, Wallingford surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Anthony G. LaBonia. Mrs. LaBonia was born in New Haven on February 1, 1922; daughter of the late Nicolo and Graziella Landino; had worked as a Head Bank Teller for the former Union Trust Bank; was a member of the Hamden Lanes Women’s Bowling Team; enjoyed crocheting, crossword and juggle puzzles. Mother of Leonard (Susan) LaBonia of Northford, Robert (Diane) LaBonia, Joyce (Steven) Sullivan all of Cheshire and the late Joan LaBonia. Grandmother of Leonard (Tanya) LaBonia, Christopher (Katie) LaBonia, Matthew & Amy LaBonia, Juliet & Jenna Sullivan. Great Grandmother of Isabella, Natalie and Robert LaBonia. Predeceased by brothers, Michael & Joseph Landino, and a sister Mary Miller.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Monday morning at 9:30. Family and friends may call from 8:30 am until time of leaving at 9:30 am. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Frances Cabrini Church, North Haven at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
no words can ease the pain of losing a loved one so dear as a parent but hopefully you will find comfort in knowing how many lives lena has touched,alway had a kind word.

Tom and I were so sad to hear of the loss of your mother. She was such a lovely woman and had the sweetest way about her. Her smile was also unforgettable. We feel that she was truly blessed to have such wonderful children watching over her and caring for her every need. You were devoted to her.
