George F. Manguilli, 91, of North Haven departed this life at his home surrounded by his large beloved family. George was born July 16, 1921 in New Haven, CT to Joseph Manguilli and Rose Manguilli (Esposito). Prior to his retirement, he worked as a master craftsman and had a skillful hand in building all of his children’s homes. He was a World War II veteran where he served in the Army Infantry. George was the loving husband of 67 years to Sandra J. Manguilli (Stellavato). He is survived by his 5 adoring children Dennis (Diane) Manguilli, Karen Manguilli Bernardo (Steve Marcarelli), George (Nina) Manguilli, Jr., and twins Joseph (Kathleen) Manguilli and Larry (Lori Ann) Manguilli, his sister Elizabeth (Manguilli) Popolizio and brothers Raymond Manguilli and Robert Manguilli. He was predeceased by 3 brothers Emanuel (Chick) Manguilli, Frank Manguilli and Vincent Manguilli. Pop was loved by his 13 grandchildren Dennis Manguilli, Gina (Manguilli) Moran, Tara (Manguilli) Boisjolie (Dave), Kylah (Bernardo) Bruno, Ashley Bernardo, Michelle Manguilli, Karlee Manguilli, Kyle Manguilli, Emory Manguilli, Kendall Manguilli, Chole Manguilli, Kassie Manguilli and Caleigh Manguilli. He was “Pop-Tart†to his 8 adoring great-grandchildren Christopher, Nicholas, Brian and Michael Moran, Taylor, Gavin, Tyler and Gianna Boisjolie.
Relatives and friends are invited to go directly to St. Frances Cabrini Church, Pond Hill Road, for a mass of Christian burial at 11:00 AM and to attend interment services with full military honors in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM, at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Liver Foundation, 127 Washington Avenue, North Haven, CT 06473 or the CT Hospice Homecare 110 Barnes Road P.O. Box 90, Wallingford, CT 06492.
Sandra and Manguilli family….I am so sorry to hear of Georgie’s passing. He was a real pistol of a guy, and so many people will feel his loss for so many different reasons. I will always remember his smile and his great sense of humor. You all had the good fortune to share his life’ and your loss will be the greatest.
