Robert E. Walczak, 81, of North Branford died peacefully on Thursday June 2, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Marie A. Foraker Walczak. Robert was born in Dover, Delaware on May 30, 1935; son of the late Walter and Irma Von Bosse Walczak; served his country proudly in the US Navy on the USS Wisconsin during the Korean conflict and had worked as a craftsman for many years. Father of Thomas “Skip” Walczak (Lynn) of Northford, Anne Walczak of Northford and Michael Walczak (Dawn) of Killingworth. Grandfather of Kaitlin, James, Samuel, Christopher and Cody Walczak. Brother of Margaret Gilliam of Redondo Beach, CA, Thomas Walczak of Egg Harbor, NJ and the late Helen Parker. The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to his caregivers Moe and Debbie.
Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Monday morning at 11:00. Interment will follow in the Northford Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Sunday from 3 to 6 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice Homecare, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.
Although I never met Mr. Walczak, I feel as if I know him from the numerous descriptions and remembrances of Anne. My condolences to the Walczak family and may Robert rest in peace.
