Angelina C. “Angie†Furino Barbaro, 79, of 520 Pool Road, North Haven, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the Hospital of St. Raphael surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Haven on March, 25, 1933; daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Mansi Furino. Angie had worked for the SNET Company for 30 years, Hamden Police Department and Grassy Hill Country Club, and was a bank teller at area banks until her retirement. Angie was an avid UCONN Woman’s Basketball and St. Louis Rams fan. She enjoyed knitting hats and gloves for the needy, John Wayne movies, but most of all she enjoyed her family and friends, especially at Christmas time. Loving mother of Leanora Barbaro Shpak of Wallingford, Anita Anderson “Rich†of North Haven and Robert Barbaro “Jean†of Wallingford. Beloved grandmother of Nicole Bellemare, Michael “Diane” & David Anderson, Steven, Christina, Michael and Brittany Barbaro. Sister of Anna Fucci “Russell†of Clinton, Delores Berger “Dan†of Meriden and the late Frank Furino, Matilda Pezzullo”Tony”, Louise Savarese and Anthony Furino. Also survived by a sister-in-law Theresa Furino and a brother-in-law Joe Savarese.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Friday morning at 9:30. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Thursday from 4 to 8 pm. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Smilow Cancer Hospital, P.O. Box 1849, New Haven, CT 06508.
Goodbye good friend. Will miss you at the Saturday breakfast club. I’m sure you will be cooking for your friends in Heaven.
