DuBreuil “Duey†Grenon, 64, of Guilford, passed away Friday, October 5, 2012 at the Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Donna Hayes Grenon. Born in New Haven on June 3, 1948; son of the late Ovilda and Ruth Manning Grenon. Duey was a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and had worked for Hostess Bakers, Maury’s Restaurant and Lender’s Bagels; he had served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. Brother of Suzanne Migani, Ovilda (Judy) Grenon, Bruce & Justin Grenon and the late Noel Grenon. Also survived by his special cats, White Paws, Barrett and Patches.
Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Wednesday evening October 10th at 7:00 with the Rev. Timothy Meehan officiating. Family and friends may call from 5:00 until time of service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Haven, Inc., 89 Mill Rd., North Haven, CT 06473.
Julie and I send our deepest condolences for your loss. It’s saddening that Duey’s life ended too early, but he’s in a better place now and no longer suffering. I wish that we could be there to celebrate his life with you at the services. He was a kind and gentle soul, and will be missed and remembered fondly.
