John D. Zullo, 84, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 with his family by his side at St. Raphael campus/Yale New Haven. He was the beloved husband of Alice M. Rosa Zullo. John was born in New Haven on October 10, 1931; son of the late Alfred J. and Rose Iovene Zullo. In his earlier years John was a painter for Joseph Cohn and Son before owning his own business, Zullo and Zullo Painting. Later John became a realtor and part owner of the Sun Agency and was the owner of Naborhood Store for groceries. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, San Salvador Counsel #1. Father of Noella (Thomas) Rhone, Cynthia (Frank) Bertuca, John M. (Dawn) Zullo, Theresa (William) Marino, Matthew (Lorraine) Zullo, Dominic Zullo and Zachary Robbins formerly Alfred J. Zullo. Brother of Genevieve DiMauro, Christine Criscuolo and the late Alfred J. Zullo. Also survived by nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Saturday morning at 9:30. Family and friends may call from 8:30 to 9:30 am. A Mass of Christian burial will follow in St. Barnabas Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to a charity of one’s choice.

John was a kind gentleman,he spoke softly . He was his own man , new just what he wanted be it political, tv, dinner. Alice cooked what he would like for dinner. They were a loving couple he also made his soup. What more can I say but rest in peace John. Now it is god's turn no More said. Love you rest in the peace of God. Connie

John was a good and gentle man. He offered his help and kindness to me and my small children during difficult times many years ago. I am forever grateful to him. My prayers and thoughts are with his wife, Alice and all of the Zullo family.
Human words cannot comfort at such a time of loss and sadness but there is One who's words can comfort in distressing times.
