Leo C. Ketter, 77, of North Haven passed away peacefully on October 31, 2012 at his home. Beloved husband of Natalie Dube Ketter. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on April 14, 1935; son of the late Leo C. and Mary Jane Campbell Ketter. Leo obtained a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and served his country faithfully in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for the former Winchester Western, Dresser Industries, and the former U.S. Repeating Arms, and had been and Independent Engineering Consultant for many years until his passing. Leo published websites and instrumental reading materials on metal industry troubleshooting, including his “ Gun Drilling Solutionsâ€, considered by many to be the authoritative standard on the subject. He was a talented artist and craftsman. Many of his beautiful carved and painted signs can be found in the greater New Haven area. He shared his broad knowledge of wood carving in the instructional video “Woodcarving with the Yankeeâ€. Leo served as lector for Saint Frances Cabrini parish since its establishment in 1967. He also served as minister of the eucharist. Father of Clay Ketter of Sweden, Stephanie Davis of Hamden, Christina Brinker of North Haven, and the late Jennifer M. Ketter. Father-in-law of Jenny Mark Ketter, Justin Davis and Clark Brinker. Grandfather of Fanny, Clara and Martha Ketter, Maya and Maxwell Davis and Evan Brinker. Predeceased by his sister, Sister Mary Jacqueline Ketter.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Frances Cabrini Church, Pond Hill Road, North Haven on Monday morning, Nov. 5th at 10:00 to attend a Christian Funeral Mass. Visiting hours will be Sunday, Nov. 4th from 2 to 5 pm at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the CT Hospice, Inc., 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

We are so sorry and saddened with Leo’s passing. The joy of knowing such wonderful sweet soul will always stay deep in our hearts. He touched so many lives in so many ways. How lucky we were to live right down the road, and to have known him for so long. We will miss Leo so much, but memories will carry all of us through.
