Romolo M. Garbatini, 89, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford. He was the husband of 62 years to Louise A. Franzi Garbatini. Romolo was born in New Haven on December 19, 1925; son of the late Augusto and Stella Constantino Garbatini; he served his country faithfully in the US Marine Corp during WW II; worked for Continental Insurance for many years and later for M & F Auto Body until his retirement. Romolo was a member of the North Haven Sons & Daughters of Italy, and the Marchegian Club; he fenced for the New York Athletic Club and loved working in his yard. Father of Ronald (Joanne) Garbatini, Gary and Bruce Garbatini. Grandfather of Steven and Gina Garbatini. Predeceased by his brothers Gino, Raymond and William Garbatini.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue Monday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Therese Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Sunday from 3 to 6 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Therese Church, 555 Middletown Avenue, North Haven, CT 06473 or the CT Hospice, Inc., 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.

Rom and I had a good personal relationship when we worked together at CIT 50 ydars ago and later had a business relationship in Orange several years ago. His late brothers Ray and Bill were also good friends. Now along with Gino, they are all in Heaven together.Heartfealt condolences to his beloved wife Louise and family.
