Arthur “Ross” Colborne, 74, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 24, 2016 at his home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Laurie Cole Colborne. Arthur was born in Bridgeport on May 18, 1942; son of the late Arthur S. and Helen Blamey Colborne; graduated from Stratford High School; graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering; graduated from OCS at Quantico, Virginia; served his country faithfully in the US Marines during the Vietnam era where he was stationed in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina; had worked as a Project Engineer for Pirelli Tires. Father of Jill (Joshua) Lander and Ross (Gina) Colborne. Brother of Gary (Susan) Colborne. Brother-in-law of Sally (Robert) Jarus and Mary Anne McDonald Nemergut. Also survived by 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services have been entrusted to the North Haven Funeral, 36 Washington Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929 or the Connecticut Hospice Inc., 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.

Ross was not only a first cousin but a wonderful friend of my family. I will remember all the good times his family and mine shared many years ago while Ross, his brother Gary, my sisters and myself were youngs kids. He was truly a wonderful person and will always be remembered in our hearts.
