Juanita Elizabeth Jacobs Cox, 85, of West Haven, passed away Friday, November 9, 2012 at the Hospital of St. Raphael. She was the wife of the late Winfred Randolph Cox. Born in Lynchburg, Virginia on March 1, 1927; daughter of the late Guy Albert Jacobs and Alice Virginia Stratton Jacobs. Juanita had worked as a Gun Inspector for the former Marlin Firearms; was a member of the West Haven Emblem Club, the Order of the Eastern Star of New Haven, the West Haven Senior Center, enjoyed sewing, crafts, fishing and gardening. Mother of Randolph (Valerie) Cox, Kenneth Albert Cox, James Edward Cox all of West Haven, Susan Cox of NH, Shirley(Frank deBettencourt) Cox of MA, Betty Jean (Jared) Smith of Guilford and John Douglas (Barbara) Cox of MN. Sister of Dorothy Reynolds of Meriden and the late Robert Jacobs. Also survived by twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Wednesday, morning Nov. 14th at 11:00 with the Rev. J.P. Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in the North Haven Center Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Tuesday, Nov. 13th from 5 to 8 pm.
