Domenica “Nan” Rose Battista Mahon, 82, of Colorado Springs, CO., formerly of North Haven passed away on Friday, November 23, 2012 at the Pikes Peak Hospice, Colorado Springs. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Mahon. Born in New Haven on March 15,1930; daughter of the late Nicholas and Angelina Baranaba Battista. She had worked as a clerk for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company until her retirement. Mother of Cynthia (Michael) O’Sullivan of North Haven, Janet Mahon of Guilford and Stephen (Cheryl) Mahon of Colorado. Sister of Rocco Battista of Winsted. Grandmother of Michael, Robert and Erin O’Sullivan and Brett and Neil Mahon.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., Saturday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 pm. To my our beautiful Aunt Nan, you are now where your heart has been for over 30 years… together with the man you loved every minute of every day… our wonderful Uncle Bobby. I love you.
To my dear Aunt Nan… rest easy, your finally back with Uncle Bobby again. You will never be forgotten as long as there are Mahon`s left behind. Every time i look at the moon i think of you two because we were together watching the 1st moon landing from a cabin in Vermont. I will always remember and cherish that week at the cabin. Love…your 7th favorite nephew Brewster (Uncle Bobby always called me that).
