Jane Capecelatro Bove, 66, of Hamden, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at her home. She was the beloved wife of Charles Andrew Bove. Jane was born in New Haven on September 22, 1946; daughter of Elaine Scialla Capecelatro of Orange and the late Ralph E. Capecelatro former 1st Selectman of Orange. Granddaughter of the late Frances and Gennaro Capecelatro and Marianna and Leopoldo Scialla. Jane was raised in Orange and attended Orange elementary schools; she graduated from Lauralton Hall in Milford where she served as class president; obtained her B.A. degree with high honors in Child Study and Special Education from St. Joseph’s College in West Hartford and was also President of their college choir. Jane obtained her M.S. degree with honors in Special Education/Learning Disabilities from SCSU and her 6th year from Fairfield University. Jane had worked for the Orange Elementary School System her entire 39 year career and had received multiple service awards and numerous meritorious recognitions. Jane was certified in early childhood and elementary education; special education. She was a member of the Orange Teachers League; CT and National Educators Associations. She was an avid sailor, scuba diver, skier, accomplished pianist and singer, an avid fan of the New York Giants, New York Yankees, and the UCONN Huskies. Among her most exciting accomplishments, for which she was most proud, was diving with hump-back whales 110 miles off Turks & Caicos, on the Silver Banks, truly an experience of a lifetime. As a teacher, she was a role model and example of what every teacher should be. She always put others before herself and would have it no other way. She taught us all well. Sister of Mark J. Capecelatro (Jane) of Lakeville and Thomas B. Capecelatro (Carol) of Orange. Sister-in-law of Andrew B. Bove (Elizabeth) of Manchester Center, VT. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her father-in-law and mother-in-law Dr. Charles and Grace Bove.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Mary’s Church, 731 Main Street, Branford, on Friday Morning, Nov. 30th at 10:00 to attend a mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal services immediately following in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “Discovery to Cure” c/o Yale GYN Ovarian Oncology, P.O.
