Ann Mattei Civitillo, 88, of Wallingford passed away peacefully on Thursday March 17, 2016 at her home with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Michael Joseph Civitillo. Ann was born in New Haven on August 20, 1927; daughter of the late Albert and Mary Donarumo Mattei. She loved to watch soap operas and was dedicated to her family whom she loved unconditionally. Mother of Theresa “Terri” DeStefano (Joseph), Michael Joseph Civitillo, Jr. and Richard Civitillo (Susan McDonnell). Grandmother of Peter M. DeStefano (Shauna), Kim Athan (Damian), Michael D. and Nicholas Civitillo, and the late Joseph Paul DeStefano. Godmother & Aunt of Patti Stewart. Also survived by 5 great grandchildren, many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Predeceased by her siblings, Evelyn DeFrancesco, Sylvio Mattei and Rose Brangi.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Saturday morning at 9:15. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Anthony Church, New Haven at 10:00 am. Interment will follow on St. Lawrence Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Friday (TODAY) from 4 to 7 pm.

Grams, i will miss you and sharing a few laughs with you. I will also miss your excellent cooking and helping with scratch-off tickets. i never forget when i was little and we would eat salami "sangwhiches" with "Soder", while watching the price is right and then hours of soaps. Love ya Grams!
