We remember all the nice rides we took with Jo and the family. They are very fond memories that we will always cherish.
Jo was a wonderful woman — she was there for us way back in the 80's when we needed help getting to doctors' appointments — she arrived on the scene in her station wagon and we never forgot all her help. We named her, Dorothy and Marion, The Three Kings — they were St. Monica's Church. We will miss greeting her every Saturday night as we entered–we never forgot to stop and talk with her — it was always about her grandchldren and especially Kristen Rose who has the same name as our daughter–we would always compare their personalities. Our thoughts to all of you and our prayers for her.
My heart goes out to the Sherwood family. Even though we're miles away, I've always kept your family in my thoughts and prayers. I have a lifetime of wonderful memories with Jojo, George, Susan, Gigi, and Rose starting with my summer visit at the age of 12. For so many years after that, we kept in touch with letters – I still have the address memorized! It was such a treat to stay in that house again, 35 years later when I brought my sons for a visit in 1999. It was as if no time had passed, there was no awkwardness, just welcoming love. Jojo and I continued to joke around, share much laughter and struggles with finding shoes to fit our feet! You never let me forget how scared I was of your basement, but it didn't stop me from going down there and eating all of your ice cream sandwiches!! I love you guys and hope to visit again soon! Bye for now, Jo <3
Sending light to you and the girls, George. I know that this has got to be very tough, but I'm sure, as I know you are, that she and aunt Vilma are now having one of those old Italian style conversations we all remember…The ones where everyone talks at once but somehow mange to understand each other. I really miss those.
Jo was always good to me and I can still visualize clearly the great day trips we'd take in the summer. Jo was the single gal and she drove. She was still Jo Palmer. They were just simple trips, for ice-cream or a couple of hours at the beach, but they were special to me and I'm sure to Linda & Cyn. Sometimes Thelma came too.
George, obviously we don't see each other very often [when Hank passed was the last time], but I always liked and respected you and saw you as a gentle spirit which is sort of what I am. So we had a connection even though you may not have known.
I haven't seen any of the girls in ions, but I send all of you my very best as I thank your mom for her presence in my own life.
A life well lived, Jo. Now enjoy the rest of your journey.
If my mom were more mobile, she'd certainly be at the service and so would I if I weren't so far away.
Bless all of you.
Thoughts and prayers being sent to your whole family on this mother's day. Hugs, Georgette.
I did not know Josephine but I know her wonderful daughter, Georgette. For Josephine to raise such an amazing woman, I know she too was a gem. May The Lord keep and hold her in his arms. RIP
