Edward “Eddie†Anthony Mirakian, 96, formerly of West Haven,Connecticut passed away on December 29th, 2012 at the Williams Jennings Dorn Veterans Administration Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. He was the beloved husband of the late Evelyn Wade Mirakian for 48 years.
Born in Worcester, Massachusetts on September 10, 1916, he was the son of the late Peter Mirakian and Teresa Whitworth Mirakian. During WWII ,he served his country in the US Army as a chef stationed in Britain. A longtime greater New Haven resident, he was a faithful parishioner to his local Catholic church. He, his brother Raymond Mirakian and his sister Mary Swanberg, owned and operated the “Cottage Restaurant†located in Guilford, CT until his retirement in 1981. No one enjoyed retirement more, and for more than twenty-five years.
He is survived by his twin sons James Mirakian and his wife Cathie of Amston, CT and Robert Mirakian and his wife Barbara of Irmo, SC as well as six grandchildren, Robert and Ashley Mirakian of Toledo, Ohio, Thomas Barbe and Lauren Mirakian of Sallanches, France, James and Teresa Mirakian of Baldwinsville, NY, Christine Mirakian of Irmo, South Carolina, David Mirakian of Houston, Texas, Peter Mirakian of Charleston, South Carolina and great grandson Edward “Eddie†Mirakian of Baldwinsville, NY along with numerous nieces and nephews. The last of his generation, he was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn, his sisters, Mary Swanberg, Teresa “Tootsâ€Ronan, and Ruth Sandrow and his brothers Oscar, George, Richard, John, Leon, Myron “Hank†and Raymond Mirakian.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave, on Saturday morning at 9:30. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 PM.

i am so sorry for your loss. My grandmother and grandfather Kilton brought us to the cottage very week with my Uncles and there families. I use to bring home the little glass bottles that were used to pour milk in your coffee, I used it fir my Ginny Doll.
I thank the cottage for so many family memories.
