Clara R. Angiolelli Valente, 91, of Hamden, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 28, 2015 at her home with her loving family by her side.  She was the beloved wife of the late Mario Valente.  Clara was born in Paupisi, Provence of Benevento, Italy on April 1, 1924; daughter of the late Gofredo and Caterina Ocone Angiolelli and came to this country on the Andrea Doria with her family in 1956 settling in New Haven.  Clara was a very talented seamstress having worked for the former Saxony Coat Company of Hamden for many years until her retirement.  A real people person, Clara was socially active and always upbeat until her last days and was a member of the Atwater Senior Center. Clara was an independent, loving women always putting her family and friends first whom she loved unconditionally.  Beloved mother of Caterina Valente (David Delohery), Ida and Tom Dudzinski, Marina and Lou Ashby, Rita Teofilo (Joseph DelMoro)  and the late Ida Valente and Peter Paul Valente.  Loving grandmother of Eric and Jennifer Mahl, Julie and Timothy  Boon, Jerred and Kristen Brockamer, Paul and Margaret Brockamer, Kassi Ashby and Tania Teofilo.  Also survived by eight great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and great friends. Predeceased by a brother Giuseppe Angiolelli and a sister Anna Furnaro.

Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, Friday morning at 10:15. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Anthony Church, New Haven at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow in the St. Lawrence Mausoleum. The visiting hours will be Thursday from 5 to 8 pm.
