A lifetime resident of Hamden, CT, Barbara Sacramone (Walsh), 83, passed away on June 19, 2016, due to complications from cardiac arrest. She was born in New Haven on August 10, 1933; was the beloved daughter of the late William and Helen (Lipnicky) Walsh. She was recently preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly 60 years, Mario Sacramone. Barbara enjoyed several years working in the banking and accounting fields. However, she cherished her role as mother above all else. While Barbara struggled with difficult health issues over the last year, the determination and grit she displayed during her recovery rehabilitation was to be admired. She showed her strong will and dedication time and time again. Barbara could always be counted on for her warm smile and clever wit. She was a selfless daughter, sister, wife, and mother, whose generous spirit serves as an example to us all. She is survived by her beloved son, Kevin Sacramone, of Hamden, CT, her brother Bill Walsh, of LaGrange, IL, and many other family members and friends who will miss her terribly.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 2819 Whitney Avenue, Hamden on Saturday morning at 10:30 to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal services immediately following in All Saints Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours. The North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue has been entrusted with the arrangements.
